Why the right size matters

A picture in the wrong size gets cropped in a way you did not choose, shows blurry, or is squeezed with bars. Uploading the size a platform expects keeps your design as you made it. Always leave a margin: feeds, profile circles and button overlays can hide the edges.

These are the sizes platforms commonly recommend. They change from time to time, so treat them as a reliable starting point and check the platform's help page for a final upload. Use the buttons to copy a size, or open the free image resizer already set to it.

How to use this cheat sheet

  1. Find the platform and the kind of picture you are making: a post, a Story, a cover or a profile picture.
  2. Copy the size into your design tool, or press Resize to this to open the image resizer with that size chosen.
  3. Keep text and faces away from the edges, and export as PNG or high-quality JPG.
