Screen readers and some apps read these letters badly, and a few phones show boxes for the rarer ones. Use them for flair in a bio or a title, not for important information.

How fancy text works
Fancy text is not a font. It uses special Unicode characters, such as mathematical bold letters, that look like styled versions of the alphabet. Because they are real characters, they paste into any app without installing anything, which is why people use them in Instagram bios, usernames and captions.
Use it sparingly. Screen readers often read these letters one by one or skip them, search does not match them with ordinary words, and a few older phones show boxes for the rarer styles. Keep important details, like prices and contact information, in plain text.
How to make fancy text
- Type your name, bio or caption in the box. Letters and numbers in the Latin alphabet change; Arabic, emoji and punctuation stay.
- Look through the styles and find one you like.
- Click Copy next to it and paste it into your bio, caption or message.
Questions people ask
Does fancy text work on Instagram?
Yes. Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, X and most other apps display these characters. Check how it looks on your own phone after you paste it.
Are these real fonts?
No. They are special characters from the Unicode standard that happen to look like styled letters, which is why they work everywhere.
Is fancy text bad for accessibility?
It can be: screen readers may read each letter as a symbol name. Use it for decoration in short places such as a bio and avoid it in whole paragraphs.
Can I make Arabic text fancy?
No. These styles exist only for Latin letters and numbers, so Arabic stays as it is.
