Free color palette from an image
Choose a picture to see its main colours as HEX codes, or click any spot to read its exact colour. Copy the codes straight into your design tool.
Free, no sign-up. It runs in your browser: your files and text never leave your device.
Why take colours from a picture?
A logo, a product photo or a shop front already has the colours your brand uses. Pulling them out as codes lets you match a post, a menu or a website to them exactly, instead of guessing by eye.
The tool groups similar colours and reports the most common ones with their share of the picture. Use the picker to read one exact pixel, for example the red in a logo. Colours in photos vary from pixel to pixel, so click a few spots for a flat area.
How to get colours from an image
- Choose a picture or drop it on the box.
- Use the slider to find 3 to 10 main colours. Click a swatch to copy its HEX code.
- Click anywhere on the picture to read the exact colour of that spot and copy it as HEX, RGB or HSL.
Questions people ask
What is a HEX color code?
A six-character code like #FD3A25 that describes a colour for websites and design tools: two characters each for red, green and blue.
Why do the colours look a little different from the picture?
Each swatch is an average of many similar pixels, so it is the typical shade of that part of the picture rather than one exact pixel. Use the picker for an exact spot.
Can I find my logo's brand colours with it?
Yes. Choose the logo, read the main colours, and click the flat coloured areas for exact values.
Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own device. Your pictures are never sent to a server, so it also works for private photos.
